Our client is recruiting Software Engineers for the development and maintenance of their Japan Securities Back Office and Settlement platform, with a focus on Operational efficiencies.

Your responsibilities:

Application Development and Deployment

• Development and enhancements of the Japan Securities Back Office and Settlement application "GLOSS": Specs, Coding, Testing and Implementation into production.
• Work with local BA and analyze the users' IT needs to provide solution in line with the strategy for the platform.
• Work with the offshore development team to drive continuous improvement of the development processes and standards.
• Provide regular updates on development progress.
• Make necessary changes in configuration files and/or batch scripts to suit Global Markets Japan environment.
• Work with Developers and Project teams in integrating the systems and services within the Japan Global markets platform.
• Provide specifications and follow up with regional development and local IT production teams.
• Maintain latest test documentation. Perform local validation. Arrange User acceptance testing (UAT).
• Provide release instructions for IT production teams.
• Level-2 support on production incidents and implement action to prevent incident reoccurrence.
• Respond to end-user inquiries about applications. Arrange technical training when it is necessary.

Operational & Regulatory Control

• Direct contribution to operational permanent control framework.
• Contribute to the implementation of operational permanent control policies and procedures in day‐to‐day business activities such as Control Plan
• Comply with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines
• Contribute to the reporting of all incidents according to the Incident Problem Management policies
• Minimizing operational failure, by helping to devise, and by implementing sufficient regular controls
• Ensuring appropriate escalation to management and/or Permanent Control ﴾or Compliance as appropriate﴿ as soon as an issue is identified

Technical & Functional

• Over 8 years of experience in IT development in the Finance Industry, ideally in Trade Processing, Back Office or Settlement area
• Preferably experience with GLOSS back office and settlement application
• Programming Skills: C, SQL, Java
• Good understanding of best practices of agile to help team transition to it
• Financial product knowledge: Fixed Income, Equities & Listed derivatives.
• Platform : Sybase, Unix/Linux
• Tools: Autosys, ServiceNow, SharePoint, JIRA, Wiki
